Lab8 Tokyo

Lab8 Tokyo is a creative coliving space in the Osaki area of Shinagawa, a 7-minute walk from Osaki Station on the Yamanote Line. The space was hand-crafted by a friend of the host and designed to be crafty, modular, and open. Encouraging sharing and interaction. It sits in a quiet residential neighbourhood away from the tourist crowds of Ginza, within walking distance of local restaurants, a fishmonger, and a 7-Eleven.

The space is best known for two things. Itsfull DJ setup. Vinyl mixer, turntables, and records. And its host, who goes by Li, Ajie, or Hsuan. Reviewers from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas consistently describe her as the highlight of their stay. Warm, multilingual (English, Japanese, Mandarin, Taiwanese), and genuinely invested in her guests. She gives personalized neighbourhood recommendations, has been known to escort guests to the station at 5am, and makes homemade nougat. The space also has a drone, balance board, overhead projector, curated magazines, and artist-collected tableware.

Lab8 hosts regular creative eventsincluding DJ sessions with local Japanese DJs and cultural exchange parties. Guests are also free to host their own concerts or gatherings during their stay. No food service is provided. Dietary options not confirmed. The shared kitchen has a fridge, plates, and cutlery for self-catering. A 7-Eleven and local restaurants are within 2 minutes on foot.
