CHEFIE Share House is Sapporo's first meal-included share house. And the chef is the main reason people move in. Every weekday evening, a professional cook prepares dinner and leaves it in the fridge so residents can eat whenever suits them. The name Chefie comes from Chef + House (家, ie), and that concept is taken seriously. Menus rotate across Japanese, Korean, and Western dishes, with full breakfasts also available as an add-on.

The house has 8 rooms across three sizes (6, 7, and 8 tatami) inside a condominium building on Minami 13-jo in the Yamahana neighbourhood of Chuo-ku. The tram stop Nishi-sen 14-jo is a 3-minute walk, putting Odori and the city center about 15 minutes away. The building has auto-lock entry, a security camera, and a weekday on-site manager. It has been operating for over 10 years.

The target residents are busy working adultswho want to eat well without spending time cooking. People new to Sapporo, freelancers, exam students, and foreigners relocating to Hokkaido. English-speaking residents are explicitly welcome. Meals cover Japanese, Korean, and Western dishes. No specific dietary options (vegan, gluten-free) are confirmed, but the chef accommodates requests where possible. There is no dedicated coworking space, but every room has WiFi and a desk.

Shoes off at the entrance; slippers are used throughout the building. The shared bathroom is available 24 hours — please limit each session to around 30 minutes. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Residents are expected to keep common areas tidy. Meals are prepared in advance and stored in the fridge — eat at your preferred time. Invoices are issued on the 1st of each month and due by the 10th.

Community life at CHEFIE centres on shared meals and seasonal events. The house runs a monthly community meeting (全体会議) to keep residents connected and involved. The house has operated for over 10 years under the same management (Ueno Lodging House), with a reputation for being a welcoming landing pad for people newly arrived in Sapporo — including foreigners.

The Yamahana neighbourhood is a quiet residential area of Chuo-ku, with a 7-Eleven (1 min), drugstore (3 min), and MaxValu supermarket (4 min / 300m) all within easy walking distance.
