LINNAS Kanazawa is a community hotel and coliving space in Owaricho, the historic merchant district at the edge of Omicho Market in central Kanazawa. Built around the Danish concept of HYGGE. Coziness, comfort, and belonging. It positions itself as the place where nomads working remotely, locals, and international travelers share the same lounge, the same kitchen, and the same city. It is2 minutes on foot from Omicho Market and about 10 minutes by bus from Kanazawa Station.
The coworking setup is centered on the 1F guest lounge, which doubles as a work space for ¥1,000/day (10:00–18:00). Guests staying short-term also have access to the IT Business Plaza Musashi, a free public coworking space 7 minutes away. No reservation needed, just sign in at reception. During coliving programs, this becomes the main daytime work venue.
The structured Urban Retreat coliving programsrun from 1 week to 1 month and come with a curated schedule. Yoga, group workouts, Omicho Market tours, a bus trip to the Noto Peninsula (still recovering from the 2024 earthquake), and company visits for business matching. Welcome and farewell dinners at local Kanazawa restaurants are included. A Discord community connects participants before, during, and after. The programs are actively marketed to digital nomads considering a trial relocation to Kanazawa.
On-site amenities go further than most coliving spaces. There is an Italian-inspired charcoal grill and smoked food restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The open shared kitchen is stocked for guests who want to cook their own food from the market next door. A fitness space runs irregular yoga and group training sessions. LINNAS runs on the concept of HYGGE — the Danish word for coziness and contentment. The idea is that international visitors, digital nomads, and Kanazawa locals melt into the same spaces, and something intangible happens in that mix. The hotel has been running structured coliving programs since 2022 and earned B Corp certification in December 2025, one of very few Japanese hospitality businesses to do so.
The Urban Retreat program is a curated 1–2 week coliving experience with a weekly rhythm: market tours, yoga, group workouts, company visits for business matching, a bus trip to the earthquake-affected Noto Peninsula, and communal dinners. There is a Discord community for participants. The program is actively used by nomads doing a trial Kanazawa move, and by international visitors curious about the city's craft culture and food scene.
Digital nomads, solo travelers doing trial Kanazawa relocation, international tourists, business travelers, couples and friend groups. LGBTQ+ welcoming (confirmed via Google attributes on sauna listing). Minimum check-in age 18.
From Kanazawa Station, take the bus from East Exit platforms ③⑧⑨⑩ toward Omicho Market (近江町市場). Two stops, about 5 minutes, ¥210. Walk through the market to LINNAS, a further 5 minutes on foot. Owaricho is a historic merchant district in central Kanazawa, directly adjacent to Omicho Market — one of Japan's oldest and most active covered fresh markets. The area sits within walking distance of Kenrokuen Garden, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Higashi Chaya geisha district, making it one of the most central and walkable bases in the city. Kanazawa Station is about 10 minutes by bus (¥210), and the Hokuriku Shinkansen puts Tokyo under 2.5 hours away. The vibe is traditional but lived-in: fishmongers and vegetable stalls in the morning, craft galleries and casual restaurants through the day.
