Shin-Osaka Stationis a 5-minute walk. Accessible on both theJR lines and the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. This makes it highly connected. Osaka Station in about 4 minutes by JR, Umeda in 6 minutes by subway, and Namba in 19 minutes. Shinkansen bullet trains also depart from Shin-Osaka, making day trips to Kyoto (~15 min) and Kobe (~30 min) easy.
Shin-Osaka is Osaka's main shinkansen hub and one of its best-connected districts. The area sits in Yodogawa Ward, about 4 minutes from Osaka Station (Umeda) by JR, with direct subway access to Namba, Tennoji, and the rest of the city via the Midosuji Line. It is a practical, business-focused neighbourhood with plenty of convenience stores, supermarkets, and local restaurants — quieter than Umeda or Namba but with easy access to both. Nomads who want fast shinkansen connections to Kyoto, Kobe, or Tokyo without living in the thick of tourist areas tend to gravitate here.
