セルフカフェ 名駅西口店
A laptop-friendly unmanned cafe one minute from Nagoya Station West Exit. Self Cafe is a growing cashless, self-service chain across Aichi. The Meieki Nishiguchi branch opened in June 2024 and quickly became a go-to for early arrivals, overnight bus passengers, and locals who need a quiet place to work without a time limit. The concept is simple. Buy one drink from the vending machine at the entrance, take any seat, and stay as long as you want.
The space has 60 seats across table and counter configurations. Artificial turf on the floor absorbs footstep noise and contributes to the quiet atmosphere reviewers consistently describe as library-like. Most seats have two power outlets built in, though a handful of wall-facing seats do not. Wi-Fi is free and confirmed working. Hours run 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM every day of the year, making it one of the few options near Nagoya Station open before the breakfast crowd arrives. The restrooms are inside the cafe and free to use with any drink purchase.
Drinks come from two APEX cup vending machines. Coffee options include THE BLEND, W-ROAST, Kiri-tto coffee, and café au lait, all from ¥420. Tea options are straight tea, milk tea, and matcha latte, also from ¥420. Premium cocoa is ¥440. Upsize costs ¥80 extra. Haagen-Dazs ice cream is also available. No food service here, and outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited. No vegan food, vegetarian food, or non-dairy milk options are confirmed at this location. The drinks are vending machine quality and reviewers are consistent on that point.
A few things to know before you go. Payment is cashless onlyat the vending machines. IC cards (Suica, Manaca), QR pay (PayPay, au Pay, d-barai, Rakuten Pay), and credit card tap-to-pay all work. The space is fully unmanned, so if you run into a machine problem, you reach out via their contact form. The crowd is mixed throughout the day. Students studying for exams in the mornings, remote workers and businessmen in the afternoons, and highway bus passengers in the evenings and late at night. The space fills up around 9 PM on weekends and Friday evenings. Late-night hours attract a rougher crowd. Several reviewers noted men sleeping across multiple seats after 10 PM.

Exit Nagoya Station at the West Exit (Taiko-dori Exit) and the cafe is about a one-minute walk away, on the ground floor of the Sankyo Building next to Bic Camera Nagoya Station West. From Meitetsu Nagoya Station, go under the elevated tracks to reach the west side directly.
Nagoya Station (Meieki) is the city's main transport hub and one of the busiest stations in Japan outside Tokyo. The Shinkansen stops here, putting Osaka 50 minutes away and Tokyo under 90. The surrounding Meieki district is a dense business zone with hotel towers, office blocks, and convenience stores at every corner. For nomads passing through or staying short-term, the area trades neighbourhood charm for pure logistical efficiency: everything is walkable, English signage is good, and the Meitetsu and subway lines connect to all parts of the city from the same station complex.
