Share Life Design is a registered NPO operating three share houses in Matsuyama, Ehime. Founded with a mission to connect people, communities, and cultures, it runs the only foreigner-friendly share house network in the city. The headquarters and main property, Shindate Share House, sits in a quiet residential area near the center of Matsuyama and offers four rooms for men and women. Two further properties under the Hinode name cater specifically to students and international residents close to Ehime University.
What sets Share Life Design apart is the active community programming. The flagship event is World Share Kitchen(WSK), where international residents cook dishes from their home countries and share meals with Japanese housemates. A regular gathering that has been running since 2015. Alongside it,Japanese Culture Time organizes hands-on cultural experiences like sushi making and traditional craft sessions for both Japanese and international participants. These events are open to residents and the broader community.
The houses are fully furnishedwith appliances included, and the monthly common fee covers electricity, gas, water, and internet. There is no key money or agency fee. Just one month's deposit. Residents aged 18 to 30s of any nationality are welcome, with an interview required before move-in. Students and international students receive a discount. The NPO also runs a"support storehouse" (SHIRIKIRIYA)that lends furniture and appliances to exchange students free of charge. The shared kitchen in each house is stocked for self-catering.
