福岡グロースネクスト
A government-backed startup support facility in Fukuoka's Daimyo district, housed in the renovated former Daimyo Elementary School. Fukuoka City and a group of private sponsors run FGN as a launchpad for early-stage companies, but the coworking floor is open to anyone who wants to drop in. The building itself is the first thing most visitors notice. Pre-war construction, wide corridors, high ceilings. It feels nothing like a generic office building.
The coworking space is a free-desk zone on the first floor. No reservation required. Walk in, find a seat, get to work. Hours run 9:00 to 22:00 every day, closed only during New Year holidays. Three membership plans exist for regular users. A Single plan for solo workers, a Multi plan you can share with other members, and a U25 special plan for people under 25. Detailed pricing is managed through FGN's Notion application page rather than published on the main website. If you want a fixed desk or a private team room, those are available too, but they require a formal tenancy application and are aimed at startups headquartered in Fukuoka.
The shared facilities go well beyond a desk and Wi-Fi. The first floor event space doubles as the coworking area and is used regularly for Growth Pitch events, a startup pitch series now past its 112th edition. A second floor sub-event space and third floor conference rooms are available for booking by members and event organizers. The building also houses a free startup consulting desk (Startup Cafe), an employment law consultation service (FECC), global business support for companies expanding overseas, and awabar Fukuoka, a standing bar on the ground floor popular with the local startup crowd. The bar is closed Sundays, Wednesdays, and holidays.
The coworking area is open-plan and moderately busy on weekday afternoons. Wheelchair-accessible seating and restrooms are available. No parking or bicycle parking on-site.
No food service is listed on the facility page. The on-site Startup Cafe provides consulting but not food or drink sales. For meals and coffee, Daimyo has many options within a short walk. Dietary options within FGN are not confirmed in available data.

FGN is the centre of Fukuoka's startup ecosystem. The building hosts over 100 resident companies at any time, supported by Fukuoka City and platinum sponsors including Nulab and NNFH, with gold sponsors from Mizuho Bank, MUFG, and Fukuoka Financial Group. The community skews heavily toward early-stage founders, engineers, and investors.
Growth Pitch, FGN's flagship pitch event, has run more than 112 editions and draws a consistent crowd of founders, VCs, and supporters. Events are held in the 1F event space. The Fukuoka Growth Network programme connects resident startups with mentors and investors. If you are in Fukuoka for the startup scene, this is the address.

Daimyo is a compact, walkable district in central Fukuoka, tucked between the Tenjin shopping hub and the historic Ohori Park. It mixes low-rise residential streets with independent cafes, boutiques, and a handful of tech-forward office buildings. Tenjin Station (Fukuoka City Subway) is 3 to 5 minutes on foot from most of the area, giving easy access to the airport line and the Tenjin-Minami interchange.
The neighbourhood has a growing remote-work presence anchored by Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City and its GROWTH 1 startup support campus. Food options are plentiful within a short walk, from casual lunch spots on Meiji-dori to the covered Tenjin shopping arcades just north.
